Injury Recovery

Many of our patients ignore injuries that don’t immediately cause them severe pain or inflammation. Often, symptoms of seemingly minor injuries may present themselves in asymptomatic ways, referring pain and inflammation to adjoining areas of the body not obviously impacted by an injury. The initial phase of any injury is inflammation. Treating that inflammation as quickly as possible is the first step in reducing further damage to connective tissue. After assessing the inflammation using our 6 STEP Diagnostic Approach, tissue manipulation, ice, passive stretching, and recommendations for over-the-counter anti-inflammatory products are just some of the remedies we implement toward a successful recovery.

PAIN MANAGEMENT

It is not uncommon for injuries that occurred years ago to resurface, causing acute or even chronic pain decades later. In addition to old injuries, neuromuscular disorders, genetic disorders, fatigue caused by autoimmune conditions, aging, and repetitive strain and stress injuries (RSI), are just some of the conditions requiring regular pain management. Many of our patients seek monthly treatment to help manage rheumatoid arthritis (RA), osteoarthritis, edema, plantar fasciitis, sciatica, and stress fractures, among others.

INCREASED MOBILITY

Injured muscle tissue, over time, can become thickened, shortened and stiff, when a muscle experiences trauma or is overstretched or torn. Initially, our patients report experiencing muscle strain and later escalating to muscle spasm or muscle twitching and, ultimately, complete immobility. If not properly treated, immobility can result in referred pain, also called reflective pain, to areas other than the site of the initial injury.

WHEN NOTHING ELSE WORKS

Almost all of our patients seek Single Point Relief because they have exhausted both traditional and alternate treatment methodologies. Many remedies, directed by credible practitioners, such as cortisone therapy and medications were symptomatic solutions rather than systemic solutions – the root cause. Our comprehensive 6 Step Diagnostic Approach has been applied over 30 years with satisfactory results, as attested to by our loyal patients.

“Over the years I’ve learned that success in Myofascial Therapy and Trigger Point Therapy requires not only an expert knowledge of muscle and tissue function, but also an advanced diagnostic ability to identify trigger points in the body. My choice to become a wellness professional was an unexpected and welcomed gift. After more than three decades in practice, my passion for relieving patients’ pain has become my singular focus.”
