Why Choose Trigger Point Therapy

Since 1978,
98% of our business is referral

Many of our patients prefer a more holistic approach, opting for a healing they can ‘feel’ working instead of invasive surgery or methodologies aimed at treating a symptom instead of the cause.

We treat your condition only as long as is necessary. Our aim is to get you back to enjoying the lifestyle you desire as quickly as possible.

“I’ve had back surgery and three hip surgeries, and still suffer from chronic pain in my back. The pain causes tightness and knots my muscles, creating greater pain. Charles has a wide range of knowledge of the body. After a session with Charles, my muscles feel so much looser and relaxed, relieving my aches and pains for a great length of time. I would recommend Charles to anyone with muscle aches and pains.”

“When I first started seeing Charles more than 30 years ago, on the recommendation of my chiropractor, it took two weekly visits, plus the chiropractor, to relieve my pain and put me on a better path. It was such an achievement to reduce the visits to once a week, thanks to both of them..and following Charles’ suggestions. His hands are magical, his knowledge of my body is amazing, and his ability to pinpoint the problem and work on it, is not only “spot on,” but also miraculous.”

“After taking an awkward fall at Mt. Ashland [skiing], I experienced lower back pain. A friend referred me to Charles for an hour session. Following the hour session session I felt so much better. Charles has helped me with pain associated with arthritis, tendonitis, and plantar fasciitis. He expertly delivers his techniques to the entire body’s musculature and tendons.”

“Right around my 40th birthday, I was suddenly in pain all over. I went to the doctor and after many tests, nothing substantial came from them. I then started seeing a chiropractor several times per month, including adjustments and massage, which felt good at the time, but never helped in the long run. I went back to the doctor who said I had Fibromyalgia and handed me a bottle of pills. For a few years I tried the pills, stretches, and special diets, but I still suffered daily nagging pain. The more I researched Fibromyalgia the less the systems [of treatment] seemed to fit me, so I kept looking for an alternative. Finally, I found Charles! He has been able to manage my pain—better than everything else I’ve tried—by finding those muscle trigger points and forcing them to release. I can sleep on my shoulder now, which I couldn’t do for years. I’m able to enjoy my hobbies and everything else I love to do. I know when I get myself all tied up in knots, Charles will straighten me out again!”

“I was told I would have serious pain the rest of my life. After Charles’ professional treatments, I have increased mobility, less pain, and increased activity. Because of Charles’ treatments, the chronic pain in my lower back has been reduced by 90%. I now go for walks, exercise regularly, do projects around the house, and yard work “pain free.” My back has not felt this good in 40 years. Wish I would have come to see Charles 20 years ago (I am sure he hears that a lot)!”

“While getting out of my parked car, I somehow managed to tangle my feet and fall with such a force that I jammed the wrist and shoulder of my right arm, which I used to break my fall. Thinking nothing of it I went about my day. About three days later I could barely move my neck. I did not immediately associate the referring pain with my fall, assuming instead it was due to working at my computer for too long. Two days later I couldn’t lift my coffee mug or type on my keyboard and my ability to manage my business came to a halt. Charles was able to fit me in. After just three sessions over two weeks, and diligently following Charles’ instructions to ice and stretch, my traumatized tissue completely recovered.”

WHY TRIGGER POINT
THERAPY WORKS

“I have been trained in and have applied a number of methodologies throughout my professional career. Due to an increased dependency on expensive diagnostic equipment and hyper specialization in the medical industry, the use of palpation touch in examining joints, muscles, and ligaments is not only becoming a lost practice, but also an underestimated ‘total diagnostic approach’. Accurate assessment of hyper-irritability in muscle trigger points is vital to successful therapy treatment. In my professional opinion, no other single approach is as effective as Trigger Point Therapy in achieving increased mobility, pain reduction and tissue recovery.”

Our Approach

WE USE A TRIED AND TRUSTED 6 STEP DIAGNOSTIC APPROACH
TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF PAIN AND INFORM
THE BEST THERAPEUTIC REGIMEN

WE CALL IT THE FPP-MFD METHOD

1

Facts

Your first appointment involves an extensive intake of information and personal discussion of your current symptoms and involves asking a lot of questions: Where is the pain? How long have you been experiencing discomfort? Has the origin of the pain changed to a different parts of your body or gotten worse over time? Was there an injury, accident or are occupational circumstances causing you pain? We’ll dig deep.
2

Probability

Based on our fact-finding, we’ll gain some insights as to where we might look for indicators and factors triggering your pain and contributing to your discomfort. This involves a physical examination and pain assessment to identify PROBABLE cause.
3

Possibility

Pain is often referred to other areas of the body when left untreated. Therefore, we not only look at the probable causes, but also other POSSIBLE causes and reasons for your pain. Our experience has shown that there is often more than one reason for the cause of any pain.
4

Mobility

After gathering the facts and determining probable and possible causes, we make a recommendation of the best therapy techniques we feel you would be most responsive to. This may include one or more therapies: Trigger Point Therapy, Deep Tissue Therapy, Passive Stretching Techniques, Range of Motion, Heat and/or Ice Therapy, Posture Correction, or a combination of modalities, depending upon our assessment and your body’s responsiveness. We may even recommend supplemental massage therapy.
5

Frequency

Once we determine the best therapy modality, we may schedule one to two follow up appointments to ensure that the applied therapies are achieving a satisfactory level of comfort. For chronic pain issues a longer period of therapy may be necessary. Some pain conditions may require pain management therapy on a regular basis.
6

Duration

The duration—or length of treatment—is based on the nature and history of your pain, the area involved, and tissue responsiveness. Other determining factors may reveal themselves once therapy begins. Naturally, we customize each visit to achieve optimum responsiveness and, ultimately, the best long-term results.

OUR AIM IS TO GET YOU BACK TO THE LIFESTYLE YOU DESIRE
